Harry Kancz-Schrag - Chef's Profile

Harry completed a 5 year apprenticeship in Austria, and gained his experience as a chef working in and running his own hotels and restaurants in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

Harry and his wife Regina, who is also a professional in the hospitality sector, first discovered Ireland holidaying by boat and later car. They were charmed by the countryside, friendly people, the quality of life, and lifestyle that Ireland offers.

In 1999 Harry sold everything, including the restaurant he owned since 1974 to move to Ireland and open Harry’s Grove House.

Harry and Regina have 4 grown up children living in Switzerland.

Specialities

Harry uses only the freshest of ingredients in his kitchen. He carefully selects suppliers that can consistently deliver the premium quality of produce that he insists on using.

Harry relishes preparing, cooking and presenting the very finest of dishes in his Swiss Mixed Kitchen.

He specialises in creating the best of mouth-watering European cuisine; French, Italian and German.
